It is the tenth Thomas & Friends movie in total and is an adaptation of the first two books of The Railway Series, originally planned for the first series in 1984. This exclusive was launched as a Walmart exclusive in the US and Canada and later as an ASDA exclusive in the UK before becoming ubiquitous in all three countries.
